Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, it has a fine dark to light blue to bluish green color, it generally has clean to lightly included clarity.  It is a member of the Beryl family along with Emerald, Morganite, Heliodor, Goshenite and Bixbite.  It has good hardness 7.5 to 8 and is durable enough it can be worn in rings.
